Kitui, 24th July 2024 — Kitui Deputy Governor, Honorable Wambua Kanani, inspected the trade fair grounds in preparation for the 6th edition of the Kitui Agricultural Show and Trade Fair, set to take place from July 25th to 27th, 2024.
Accompanied by Dr. Stephen Mbaya Kimwele, the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Agriculture and Livestock, and Madam Rose, the Trade CECM, the Deputy Governor led a crucial preparatory meeting this morning. The event, dubbed the “Mother of All Shows,” promises to be a highlight for the county.
The meeting included key stakeholders such as national and county security teams, revenue collection officers, public health officials, the County Assembly Budget & Appropriations Committee, and staff from the county ministry. Dr. Mbaya stressed the importance of following established guidelines to ensure the event runs smoothly, urging revenue officers and security personnel to operate efficiently.
Ms. Jackline Kalenga, representing the County Assembly Chair for Budget, praised the administration for their timely and effective preparations. Mr. Abdi Ali Adan, responsible for event security, assured attendees of robust security measures, with officers deployed to maintain order throughout the event.
The three-day event is expected to attract a significant number of exhibitors and visitors, providing a valuable platform for interaction, benchmarking, and learning. This year’s theme, “Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture for Food Security and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth,” highlights the importance of innovative agricultural practices.
