Kitui East MP Hon. Nimrod Mbai has strongly defended Kitui County Assembly Speaker Hon. Kevin Katisya Kinengo against a looming impeachment motion expected to be tabled in February 2024. Speaking in Chuluni during the colorful wedding ceremony of Chuluni MCA Hon. Mathew Ngovi Vuthi, Mbai declared that he will not stand by and allow Speaker Kinengo’s removal.
Mbai, known for his bold remarks, asserted that any attempts to impeach Speaker Kinengo would not succeed in Kitui County. “We are going to cause a generational change in Kitui County leadership. For those thinking of impeaching Speaker Kinengo, you will have to do the voting from another county or even space, but not from Kitui,” he stated during the event at Kanguu Primary School Grounds.
The vocal MP later reinforced his stance through a Facebook post, saying, “Just watch the space. Hate the game, don’t hate the player. Mbaya Mbaya, back to original settings.”
