In a candid discussion on Kenya Broadcasting Corporation’s (KBC) “Eyes in Politics” morning talk show, Yatta kwa Vonza Member of County Assembly (MCA) Hon. Mark Nding’o voiced his concerns over the state of governance in the country.
He emphasized that Kenyan leaders should prioritize service delivery instead of focusing on political ambitions and rhetoric.
Hon. Nding’o, an expert in governance and leadership, argued that the recent push for extending term limits for elected officials is counterproductive and a “worthless cause” for the country. He stated, “The country cannot sustain this unending pursuit to extend terms in office. Leaders need to focus on serving the people and delivering on their promises instead of furthering their personal agendas.”
The MCA’s remarks come at a time of ongoing debate on whether to extend term limits for elected leaders. However, Hon. Nding’o firmly opposed the idea, calling it a misguided approach that should be “discarded in totality.”
He urged fellow leaders to shift their focus from political maneuvering to actual governance and tangible service delivery, which he believes will foster sustainable development and improve citizens’ livelihoods.
Hon. Nding’o’s background in leadership and management, paired with his business experience in real estate, reinforces his pragmatic approach to governance. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Leadership and Management and an MBA in Strategic Management, credentials that have informed his critical stance on governance issues in Kenya.
As political conversations heat up in Kenya, Hon. Nding’o’s call serves as a reminder for leaders to remain focused on their mandate to serve. His comments have resonated with many citizens, who are increasingly frustrated by unfulfilled promises and lack of action on critical issues affecting the nation.
