Kitui Ministry of Health and Sanitation has today received a consignment of assorted drugs and medical supplies worth over Sh.8 million.
Receiving the consignment at the Kitui County Referral Hospital (KCRH), the Chief Officer for Drugs and Medical Supplies, Aggrey Kamba said the drugs and non-pharmaceuticals will be distributed to the various healthcare facilities across the county.
“The arrival of these medical supplies is a significant boost to our healthcare system. They will ensure that our healthcare facilities can continue providing essential services without interruption. This consignment is part of our broader strategy to enhance healthcare delivery in Kitui County, and we are committed to maintaining transparency and accountability throughout the process,” stated CO Kamba.
He affirmed that Governor Dr. Julius Malombe’s administration has made significant commitments to improving the health sector in Kitui County through the enhancement of healthcare infrastructure, timely procurement of medical supplies, and training and support of healthcare personnel.
CO Kamba also noted that another consignment from the Kenya Medical Supplies Agency (KEMSA) is expected in the county from next week.
He was accompanied by KCRH Medical Superintendent, Dr. John Mungai.
Dr. Mungai highlighted the immediate impact of the received drugs and medical supplies noting that “these supplies are crucial in maintaining the quality of care at our facilities.”
