Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua has expressed deep sorrow and outrage following the brutal murder of a farmer, Robert Mutisya, by bandits in Mutha Ward. In a heartfelt message of condolence to the bereaved family, Senator Wambua decried the ongoing insecurity in the region, which has left many residents living in constant fear.
“My sincere condolences go out to the family of Robert Mutisya. It is very sad that our people in Mutha Ward continue to live at the mercy of marauding bandits,” the senator stated. He emphasized that the recurring attacks are intolerable and highlighted the national government’s responsibility to ensure the safety of all Kenyans.
Senator Wambua criticized the government’s failure to secure the area, stating, “The security of every Kenyan anywhere in the country is the responsibility of the national government. A government that can’t secure its own people has no business being in office.”
In his remarks, Wambua also challenged the government to be honest about its capabilities in addressing the security challenges in Mutha Ward. “If the government has no way of securing the people of Mutha from the bandits, it should simply own up and tell us to look for ways of protecting our people,” he added.
The senator’s comments come in the wake of increasing tension and fear among residents of Mutha Ward, who have suffered repeated attacks from bandits. The incident has sparked renewed calls for urgent action to restore peace and security in the region.
