Kyalo Muli Strategic Calls for Ukambani ahead of 2027 leaves Netizens Awed

Augustus Muli, the National Liberal Party (NLP) leader and National Patron of the Anzauni clan, has made a rallying call for unity in Ukambani as the region gears up for the 2027 general elections. Muli urged the community to come together, setting aside political differences in order to strengthen their bargaining power in national politics.

In a direct challenge to Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Muli called for mutual respect among Ukambani leaders, especially those from different political parties. He criticized Musyoka for what he termed unnecessary divisions in the community, pointing out that as a presidential aspirant, Musyoka needs the full support of the entire Kamba region.

Muli highlighted the recent defeat of Koki Muli, the Wiper Party candidate, in the Azimio Party’s selection for the IEBC selection panel. Augustus Muli emerged victorious with 16 votes, significantly outpacing Koki Muli, who garnered only 7 votes. Muli stressed that the selection was a fair process and that Musyoka should accept the outcome instead of fostering division.

“The community is already facing significant challenges, from the threat posed by Somali camel herders to widespread poverty and lack of development. These are issues that have been neglected under the leadership of the Wiper Party,” Muli said. He further warned that the focus must now shift to economic development, which has stagnated under past leadership, leaving the region behind.

As the Kamba community looks toward forming alliances with other political groups, including GEMA, Muli emphasized that the key question should be what Ukambani can bring to the table. He expressed concern that without unity, the region would struggle to make a meaningful contribution to national political discussions and risk being left out of the next government.

Muli concluded by urging the Wiper leader to avoid creating unnecessary enemies and divisions, stating that the future of Ukambani depends on the region’s ability to unite and work towards shared goals.

The 2027 general elections are already shaping up to be highly competitive, with calls for regional unity taking center stage in preparation for potential coalitions and alliances.
