Approval of Health CEC Nomination
In the morning session, the Assembly approved the nomination of Mr. Justus Musau Kasivu as the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Health and Emergency Services. The Appointments Committee’s
report, presented by its Vice-Chairperson Hon. Stephen Mwanthi, highlighted Mr. Kasivu’s qualifications and ability to enhance the county’s health services. Members engaged in comprehensive discussions before unanimously endorsing the nomination, marking a significant step toward strengthening the health sector.
During the afternoon session, Hon. Eric Musembi, MCA for Kola Ward, raised concerns over the stalled Muumandu Market project. In a Statement request, Hon. Musembi sought clarity on:
The steps being taken by the relevant department to ensure its completion and operationalization.The matter was referred to the Trade, Economic Planning, and Industrialisation Committee, which will investigate and provide recommendations for resolving the issue.
Road Infrastructure Progress Reviewed. The Assembly also approved a report by the Transport, Roads, and Public Works Committee on the status of four major road projects targeted for tarmacking during the FY 2023/2024. The report, tabled by Hon. Dominic Ndambuki, MCA for Kathiani Ward, provided updates on the progress and underscored the importance of the roads in improving connectivity and economic activities in the county.
