September 6, 2024 – Masinga MP Joshua Mwalyo has launched a scathing attack on Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti, accusing her of incompetence in her leadership of the county. Speaking at a public event, Mwalyo expressed his dissatisfaction with Ndeti’s governance, alleging that she has failed to deliver on key promises to the people of Machakos since taking office.
Mwalyo, who has been a vocal critic of Ndeti’s administration, claimed that the county has lagged in development, service delivery, and management under her tenure. He pointed to issues such as poor infrastructure, water shortages, and alleged mismanagement of county resources as evidence of Ndeti’s ineffective leadership.
In a surprising political move, the MP endorsed Patrick Makau, a prominent figure within Machakos political circles, as his preferred candidate for the 2027 gubernatorial elections. Mwalyo described Makau as a “powerful and visionary leader” who would steer the county towards progress and economic growth.
“Machakos deserves better leadership, and I believe Patrick Makau has the capacity to transform this county. We need a leader who listens to the people and delivers on their needs, not empty promises,” Mwalyo said during his address.
Governor Wavinya Ndeti, who has faced criticism from various quarters, is yet to respond to the accusations. However, her supporters have dismissed Mwalyo’s comments as politically motivated, noting that Ndeti has been actively working to implement her development agenda.
The endorsement of Makau is expected to intensify political activities in Machakos County as leaders and aspirants begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections. Political analysts predict a tough battle for the gubernatorial seat, with Ndeti likely seeking re-election amidst growing competition.
