MCA Gabriel Munyao Hosts Leaders at AIC Kauwi Church Service, Calls for Prayer and Accountability

Hon. Gabriel Munyao, the Member of Kitui County Assembly for Kauwi Ward, welcomed a gathering of leaders for a church service at AIC Kauwi Town in Kitui West. The service brought together prominent figures, including Kitui West MP Hon. Edith Nyenze, Kitui Central MP Hon. Dr. Makali Mulu, and former Kitui County Governor Hon. Charity Ngilu, among others.

During the service, MCA Munyao issued a strong call for Kitui County Chief Officers (C.Os) to remain vigilant against intimidation and extortion by certain leaders. He condemned the actions of those who attempt to manipulate county officials by threatening negative publicity. Munyao also criticized the selective profiling of county staff from specific regions, labeling it as witch-hunting. He vowed to continue defending his people against such intimidation and unethical practices.

Munyao drew inspiration from Proverbs 3:9, urging believers to “Serve the Lord with your substance,” encouraging the congregation to use their hard-earned income to support the work of the Lord.

In addition to these remarks, the service served as a platform for reflection on national challenges. Hon. Dr. Makali Mulu, PhD, addressed the congregation, urging them to pray for the nation as it navigates through challenging times. He emphasized the importance of unity, faith, and a strong sense of community during periods of uncertainty.

Dr. Mulu also highlighted the importance of government accountability, stressing the need for a strong opposition to oversee the government. “*Let some of us remain in opposition to oversee the government,*” he stated, underscoring the belief that a robust opposition is crucial for effective governance and national progress.

The event at AIC Kauwi was more than just a religious gathering; it provided an opportunity for leaders and community members to engage in meaningful dialogue about the future of the nation. The diverse presence of leaders at the event emphasized the significance of the occasion and the shared commitment to both spiritual growth and civic responsibility.
