Yatta Kwa Vonza MCA, Hon. Mark Ndingo, has called for proper conflict resolution mechanisms within the country, particularly in the relationship between county assemblies and governors. Speaking recently, Hon. Ndingo underscored the importance of dialogue and mediation as effective tools for resolving disputes, rather than resorting to extreme measures such as impeachment.
Referring to the impeachment of Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza, Hon. Ndingo described the action as “ill-advised” and expressed concern that it would not address the underlying issues facing Meru County. “The impeachment of Governor Kawira was ill-advised and will not solve Meru’s problems. We need to prioritize dialogue and mediation to find lasting solutions to such conflicts,” he stated.
Hon. Ndingo’s remarks come in the wake of ongoing tensions between county assemblies and governors in various parts of the country. He urged leaders to embrace peaceful conflict resolution strategies to ensure effective governance and service delivery at the county level.
