Hon. Zack Kyamatu, Member of the County Assembly (MCA) for Voo Kyamatu Ward have announced the completion and handover of Ndulikye New Light Stadium, marking a significant milestone in the community’s access to sports and recreational facilities.
This is the first stadium to be built in Voo Kyamatu Ward, providing a dedicated space for local sports teams and community events.
Speaking to TCD Digital, Hon. Kyamatu highlighted the importance of the stadium, emphasizing its role in nurturing young talent, promoting community engagement, and supporting sports development at the grassroots level. “This is a big step for our community. We now have a space where our youth can come together, train, and showcase their talents,” he said.
The Ndulikye New Light Stadium project was undertaken by the Kitui County government, led by Governor Dr. Julius Makau Malombe, EGH. The county government’s commitment to expanding sports infrastructure aligns with its broader goals to foster youth empowerment, enhance local opportunities, and improve community welfare across Kitui.
Residents of Voo Kyamatu have warmly welcomed the new stadium, viewing it as a long-awaited addition to the area’s amenities. The facility is expected to host local sporting events, offering young athletes a platform to hone their skills and gain visibility in the competitive sports arena.
The completion of Ndulikye New Light Stadium is part of Kitui County’s wider agenda to promote sports and community development, with further plans to enhance and expand recreational facilities across other wards in the county.
