On 17th December 2024 – The motion to remove Mr. Peter Mwikya Kilonzo, Kitui’s County Executive Committee Member for Finance, Economic Planning, and Revenue Management, was withdrawn during the morning session of the County Assembly.
The motion, presented by Hon. Jeremiah Mutua Musee (Nguni), failed to secure a seconder, prompting its withdrawal in line with Standing Order No. 54(1). The provision states that any unseconded motion is deemed withdrawn and cannot be reintroduced in the same session.
Mr. Kilonzo had been under investigation by a special committee over allegations linked to his impeachment.
