Nairobi, Kenya – In a stern statement delivered today at Parliament, ODM MP hon Junet Mohamed declared that the vetting of the Cabinet Secretaries nominated by President William Ruto will be more rigorous than ever before.
Addressing the fellow Parliamentarians hon Mohamed emphasized that this second round of vetting by Parliament will not be “business as usual,” contrasting it with previous approval processes.
The MP urged nominees who doubt their qualifications to voluntarily step down rather than face the Assembly’s scrutiny. “Those who feel they don’t qualify should start packing up their belongings and quit,” Mohamed stated, highlighting the increased scrutiny that nominees can expect.
President Ruto has forwarded a list of ten nominees to Parliament for vetting and consideration. This announcement sets the stage for what could be a contentious and thorough examination of the President’s picks, as Parliament exercises its oversight role with renewed vigor.
