Mwingi West Member of Parliament, Hon. Charles Nguna, has strongly criticized his political opponents, stating that they have turned him into the central focus of their campaigns. Speaking to his supporters, Nguna confidently recounted his past electoral victories and warned his critics to expect a tougher challenge in the upcoming 2027 elections.
Nguna, who first entered the political scene in 2017, addressed claims made by his opponents over the years, dismissing them as baseless and full of misinformation. “My critics predicted that I would lose in 2017, but I defeated them as a newcomer. In 2022, they capitalized on lies regarding bursaries, yet I beat them convincingly,” Nguna said, emphasizing his victories. He further added, “You know, an empty container makes the loudest noise.”
The MP urged his supporters to remain focused on delivering services to the constituency and not to be distracted by the noise from his critics. He expressed confidence in his track record and hinted at a fierce contest in 2027, promising a “lethal” campaign. “There will be no mercy for my opponents in 2027,” Nguna declared.
As the 2027 elections draw closer, Nguna’s remarks suggest that he intends to defend his seat with the same determination that has characterized his past campaigns. His message to constituents was clear: focus on progress and service delivery, while he handles his political rivals.
The MP’s comments have already stirred conversation among locals, many of whom are eager to see how the political dynamics in Mwingi West will unfold in the coming years.
