In a monumental shift within the County Assembly, Hon. Bonface Mukwate Katula (Kanyangi ward) has been appointed as the new Majority Party Whip, while Hon. Harrison Maluki Mawia takes over as the Leader of the Majority Party. The two replace Hon. Munyoki Mwinzi (Kyuso) and Hon. Daniel Kimanzi Ngoima (Township), who previously held these leadership positions.
During the morning session, County Assembly Speaker Hon. Kevin Kinengo Katisya announced the leadership change, citing the Majority Party’s decision as communicated through a letter and accompanying minutes dated September 3, 2024.
Speaker Kinengo congratulated the newly appointed leaders and offered his full support during their transition. He also urged all Assembly members to cooperate with the new leaders while thanking the outgoing officials for their service.
