Kitui County is witnessing significant strides in urban development, as the ongoing installation of cabro paving blocks at the new Outpatient Department (OPD) gate highlights the county’s modernization agenda. Under the leadership of Governor Dr. Julius Malombe, the Department of Urban Development has been spearheading efforts to transform key urban spaces, enhancing both functionality and aesthetic appeal.
Traders in the Area continued to voluntarily remove their kiosks to facilitate the modernization efforts, signaling strong community support for the initiative.
The move aligns with the county’s broader agenda of upgrading public infrastructure, improving accessibility, and fostering a more organized urban environment.
Speaking on the project’s progress, officials from the Department of Urban Development CO Mutemi praised the collaborative efforts between the county government and local residents. The new cabro installation at the OPD gate is expected to improve the quality of services and convenience for residents and visitors accessing medical facilities in the area.
Governor Malombe’s administration has prioritized urban renewal and the creation of open, functional public spaces as part of his vision for a more modern Kitui.
