President Ruto Donates Ksh. 1 Million to Support Families of Witu Accident Victims

Kitui South MP, Hon. Dr. Rachael Kaki Nyamai, CBS, alongside Kitui County Commissioner Mr. Kipchumba Rutto and other dignitaries, extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the six children who tragically lost their lives in a horrific accident at Witu in Kyoani-Ikutha sub-county. The accident has left the community in deep mourning.

In a show of solidarity, His Excellency Dr. William Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya, also sent his condolences, offering financial support of Ksh. 1 million to aid the bereaved families. The funds were divided equally among the six families, with each receiving Ksh. 166,000 to assist with burial preparations.

Hon. Dr. Rachael Kaki Nyamai, in addition to expressing her condolences, pledged further assistance to two families in desperate need of proper housing. She revealed that she is working closely with SMPI, a local NGO based in Mutomo, to build homes for these families.

“I will stand up for the families and see that justice is served for the deceased children,” Hon. Kaki stated, promising to ensure that the victims’ families receive justice following the tragic loss.

The accident has sparked widespread grief, with local leaders, residents, and well-wishers coming together to support the affected families during this difficult time.
