Kitui Chief Officer for Livestock and Apiculture, Jonathan Kyambi, earlier today visited Kitui Women’s Prison, delivering a message of encouragement and presenting essential items to the inmates.
During his visit, Mr. Kyambi emphasized the importance of resilience and second chances, urging the women to remain hopeful and determined.
“Your current situation is not the end of the road. Every day is an opportunity to begin again, to grow, and to prepare for a better future,” he said.The donation, which included foodstuffs and hygiene products, was warmly received by the prisoners, who expressed their gratitude for the thoughtful gesture.
Mr. Kyambi further highlighted that the initiative was part of the County Government’s commitment to supporting marginalized communities and fostering rehabilitation.*
“As a county, we are committed to ensuring that every individual feels valued, regardless of their circumstances. Today’s visit is a reflection of our belief in the power of hope and humanity” he added.
The prison authorities commended the gesture, noting the positive impact such visits have on the morale and well-being of the inmates, saying such visits served as a reminder to the women that they are not forgotten, and that the community still cares for their future.
The gifts, shared in the spirit of Christmas festivities, brought a sense of joy and togetherness to the inmates during the holiday season, reinforcing the message of compassion and hope.
