On November 29, 2024 – The Cabinet Secretary for East African Community (EAC), Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs), and Regional Development, Madam Beatrice Asukul Moe appointed Charles Mwalimu as a member of the Tana and Athi Rivers Development Authority Board.
In a gazette Notice of appointment, which was made in accordance with Section 4 (1) of the Tana and Athi Rivers Development Authority Act (Cap. 443), takes effect from today, November 29, 2024, and will run for a period of three years.
The Tana and Athi Rivers Development Authority is a key government institution tasked with promoting and coordinating integrated development initiatives along the Tana and Athi River basins.
Mwalimu’s appointment is expected to bolster the Authority’s capacity to deliver on its mandate of fostering regional development, environmental conservation, and sustainable resource management.
Mwalimu’s appointment reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to strengthening governance and leadership in critical sectors to ensure sustainable development in the East African region.
