Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe, in the company of Kitui Central MP and 2027 gubernatorial aspirant Dr. Makali Mulu, today officially commissioned a state-of-the-art Multipurpose Hall at Mulango Girls’ Secondary School.

The newly constructed facility was named in honor of the late Edith Mawia Malombe, the former First Lady of Kitui County, who also served as the school’s Board of Management (BOM) chairperson for an impressive 13 years. The naming of the hall pays tribute to her enduring commitment to the school’s growth and excellence in education.

Speaking during the event, Governor Malombe underscored the critical role of education in shaping the future of young people. He encouraged students to remain focused on their studies and embrace discipline, hard work, and resilience as key drivers of success.

“This hall is not just a building — it symbolizes our unwavering support for education and our deep respect for the legacy of the late Edith Mawia Malombe, who dedicated her life to the service of this school and community,” he said.

Dr. Makali Mulu also commended the school’s leadership and community for fostering academic excellence and pledged continued support for education initiatives in the region.

The event was attended by education stakeholders, county officials, parents, and students, who celebrated the milestone as a significant boost to the school’s learning environment and co-curricular activities.
