Hon. Mark Nding’o Urges Government to Prioritize Knowledge Empowerment and Production Over Handouts

Date:

Yatta Kwa Vonza Member of the County Assembly, Hon. Mark Nding’o, has urged the national government to focus on empowering citizens through education, innovation, and hard work rather than promoting a culture of handouts.

Speaking during a public event in his ward, Hon. Nding’o said, “Empowering brains with knowledge plus hard work is the foundation to success.” He warned that handouts, though seemingly attractive, eventually cause long-term harm to society.

“Handouts are like Trojan horses that seem nice at first, only to learn later of their fraudulence and how much damage, turmoil, and suffering they cause,” he stated.

The MCA emphasized that sustainable development and poverty reduction can only be achieved through investment in key productive sectors.

“A nation that invests in production, manufacturing, and agriculture enhances poverty eradication and builds true economic independence,” he added.

Hon. Nding’o called on leaders at all levels to channel resources toward education, job creation, and agricultural productivity to empower citizens and drive Kenya toward lasting prosperity.
