Kitui East parliamentary hopeful Henry Nyamai on Saturday conducted an extensive tour of Zombe/Mwitika Ward and Mutito/Kaliku Ward, where he inspected ongoing development projects and participated in community activities aimed at improving the welfare of residents.
The day began at Kongowea in Zombe/Mwitika Ward, where Nyamai assessed the ongoing grading of the Kimangau–Kongowea road. The road works were undertaken following requests from local residents and Kenya Power to improve accessibility and facilitate infrastructure development in the area.
Speaking during the inspection, Nyamai expressed satisfaction with the progress of the project, noting that improved road networks are critical for economic growth and service delivery. He also revealed that electricity connectivity in Kongowea is expected to be completed soon, bringing much-needed power to local households and businesses.
In addition, Nyamai announced that all vandalized solar street lights in the area had been repaired and restored. He said the rehabilitation of the lighting system would enhance security, support business activities, and improve the quality of life for residents.
Later in the afternoon, the aspiring MP joined members of a family in Kabati, Zombe, for a thanksgiving and parents’ celebration ceremony held at the home of Musyimi Kula. The event brought together relatives, friends, and community members in a show of gratitude and unity.
Nyamai later proceeded to Kaayo Comprehensive School, where he participated in a fundraising drive aimed at renovating classrooms and improving learning facilities. He commended residents of Kaayo and Manyoeni for their commitment to supporting education and investing in the future of their children.
Addressing residents during the events, Nyamai thanked the people of Kitui East for their continued support and encouragement. He stated that the constituency was ready for a new era of leadership based on development and unity, adding that wananchi were determined to reject intimidation and embrace progress. “Ground iko sawa. I am deeply humbled by the unmatched love from our people. Pamoja twaweza,” he said.
