Kitui West parliamentary hopeful Benedict Muasya has commended the people of Sangala for taking the initiative to construct an Assistant Chief’s office through community effort, describing the project as a model of people-driven development.
Speaking after visiting the area, Muasya said the strongest communities are those that do not wait for development but instead begin building with the resources they have. He noted that leadership should recognize such initiatives, walk alongside communities, and provide the support needed to transform local efforts into lasting progress.
Inspired by the community’s commitment, Muasya pledged to support the completion and furnishing of the Assistant Chief’s office. He also donated two solar lighting systems, one for the Assistant Chief’s office and another for the neighbouring AIC Church in Sangala.
Muasya said true leadership does not replace community effort but strengthens it, adding that empowering local initiatives builds confidence, partnerships, and sustainable development that benefits future generations.
He reiterated his commitment to supporting grassroots development across Kitui West as he continues his bid for the constituency’s parliamentary seat in the 2027 General Election
