Governor Malombe Presides Over Signing of FY26/27 Performance Contracts.

On Tuesday 14th – July 2026 – Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe presided over the signing of Performance Contracts for the 2026/2027 Financial Year by County Executive Committee Members, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to accountability, efficiency and improved service delivery across the county.

Speaking during the ceremony at the Governor’s Boardroom, Dr. Malombe said performance contracting has become a key management tool in driving planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of county programmes since his administration took office in 2022.

He noted that the integration of productivity improvement has further enhanced accountability, prudent use of public resources and accelerated implementation of development projects.

The Governor said the approach has enabled the county to successfully implement 3,819 development projects across all the 247 villages in Kitui’s 40 wards under The Kitui Promise, with investments spanning agriculture, water, health, education, roads, urban development, trade, tourism, cooperatives and other priority sectors.

“The Performance Contracts we sign today are a solemn commitment to meet the expectations of the people of Kitui through dedicated service, measurable results and unwavering accountability” he said

The Governor further stated that the performance contracting process will be cascaded immediately to Chief Officers, boards of county entities, municipal managers, directors and all county staff through the Performance Appraisal System to strengthen a culture of productivity and excellence throughout the county government.
