Kitui Rural MP hopeful Hon. John Kisangau, popularly known as “Mbaki Mbaki,” has received a major political boost after leaders allied to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) rallied behind his bid during an empowerment and public engagement forum held at Kavisuni Market on Friday, August 14, 2026.

The forum, hosted by Kisangau, brought together hundreds of residents and a powerful delegation of leaders led by Kitui South MP Dr. Racheal Kaki Nyamai. Among those in attendance were PS Jonathan Mueke, Kitui East MP Hon. Nimrod Mbai, former Mwingi Central MP Hon. Joe Mutambu, Mwingi West MP Hon. Charles Nguna “CNN,” former Kitui Governor Hon. Penina Malonza, Hon. Boniface Musambi, Hon. Benedict Muasya, Hon. Beth Syengo, Hon. Martha Mati, Hon. Esther Ndile and County Assembly Speaker Hon. Kevin Kinengo Katisya.

Dr. Nyamai commended Kisangau for bringing residents together and creating a platform for dialogue, empowerment and community engagement. She reaffirmed her commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods and strengthening economic opportunities for residents, while calling for greater unity among leaders and communities.

Kisangau used the occasion to articulate his vision for Kitui Rural, emphasizing the importance of unity, effective service delivery and sustainable development. He said communities can only achieve meaningful progress when leaders work closely with residents to identify their priorities and pursue practical solutions to challenges affecting them.

The strong presence of senior UDA leaders at the Kavisuni forum is expected to further elevate Kisangau’s profile as he seeks to succeed in the 2027 Kitui Rural parliamentary race. The gathering also provided a platform for residents to interact directly with leaders on matters of empowerment, development and the future political direction of the constituency.
