Kitui West MP aspirant Benedict Muasya has met chiefs and assistant chiefs from Kitui West on the sidelines of a two-day training held at Parkside Villa.
The training was convened through the World Governance Center and focused on grassroots data management and planning systems.
Muasya said effective development begins with understanding communities, their needs and realities, supported by reliable information to guide decision-making.
He noted that stronger grassroots data in Kitui West would help improve planning, identify community needs more clearly and support more informed engagement with development programmes.
Muasya further said leadership should involve building systems that help identify challenges early, allowing leaders and stakeholders to respond before problems escalate.
He emphasized that quality information collected from the village level can play an important role in shaping planning decisions and ultimately influencing the delivery of development services to residents.
