By TCD DIGITALMwingi West MP Charles Nguna has reaffirmed his commitment to empowering women economically after taking part in a women’s empowerment programme at Kyethani Location, Kiomo Kyethani Ward.The initiative, which brought together local women and community leaders, saw more than 40 women’s groups benefit from economic support aimed at strengthening household livelihoods and promoting financial independence.Nguna, who was accompanied by Nominated Senator Beth Syengo, Commissioner Ben Muasya, Kitui Rural MP aspirant John Kisangau, Hon. Joe Mutambu, Kiomo Kyethani MCA Antony Neymar, MCA Priscilla Makumi and Mwingi North MP aspirant Martha Mati, emphasized the critical role women play in the development of families and communities.> “When you empower a woman, you empower an entire household,” Nguna said, reiterating his commitment to supporting women-led initiatives and improving economic opportunities at the grassroots.The programme was held alongside voter registration activities in the area, bringing together empowerment efforts and civic participation as local leaders engaged residents on matters affecting their community.The event comes as leaders across Kitui continue to champion grassroots empowerment programmes targeting women, youth and other vulnerable groups.
