Yatta kwa Vonza MCA Hon. Mark Nding’o on Thursday morning hosted Hon. Kennedy Kalonzo, a Member of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), at his home for a breakfast meeting that brought together two leaders for discussions on matters of county and national importance.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the leaders to exchange views on key issues affecting the people of Kitui County and the wider country, with a focus on governance, development and the future of the region.

While details of the discussions were not made public, the engagement comes at a time when political and development conversations are increasingly taking shape across Ukambani ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Nding’o has continued to position himself as an active grassroots leader, maintaining close engagement with residents and other political leaders as he pushes for greater attention to local development priorities.

Kalonzo, who serves in the East African Legislative Assembly, brings to the engagement a regional perspective, particularly on matters touching on East African integration, economic opportunities and the interests of Kenyan communities within the wider East African Community.

The breakfast meeting is therefore likely to attract attention among political observers, especially given the growing importance of strategic consultations among leaders from the region.

The leaders’ discussions underline the need for continued dialogue on issues affecting citizens at both county and national levels, as the region looks ahead to the next political cycle.
