UDA Kitui West parliamentary hopeful Benedict Muasya on Friday hosted a major empowerment and public engagement forum at Kathivo Primary School, Kitui West Constituency, attracting thousands of residents and local leaders.
The event brought together UDA leaders led by Kitui South MP Dr Rachael Kaki Nyamai, as well as other political figures and community members who gathered to discuss empowerment initiatives and development priorities affecting the constituency.
Addressing the gathering, Muasya said the forum provided an opportunity to listen to residents, understand their concerns and engage them on the future of Kitui West.
The meeting took a political turn when some residents publicly expressed support for Muasya’s 2027 parliamentary bid and indicated their willingness to work with him in the upcoming elections.
Muasya also highlighted what he described as growing support for the UDA administration and President William Ruto’s development agenda in the region.
“For me, leadership is not about speaking at people. It is about listening to them, understanding their priorities and remaining present in the places where their voices matter most,” Muasya said.
The forum comes as political activity intensifies in Kitui West ahead of the 2027 General Election, with aspirants stepping up grassroots engagements and community empowerment initiatives.
Muasya used the occasion to reiterate his commitment to people-centred leadership, saying the most important political messages often emerge directly from the people rather than from campaign banners and speeches.
“When the people speak, the direction becomes clear,” he said.
