UDA Kitui West parliamentary hopeful Commissioner Ben Muasya has taken his engagement with residents of Kaiveti, Kalaa and Nzemeli a step further by visiting the villages to address their long-standing concerns over electricity access.
Muasya visited the areas after residents, through a delegation, approached him to raise concerns about the challenges they have faced in accessing reliable electricity. He had earlier committed to personally visiting the affected communities to better understand their situation.
True to his promise, the aspiring legislator met residents on the ground, listened to their experiences and sought to establish the gaps hindering electricity connectivity in the villages.
For many families in the affected areas, access to electricity is more than just a development project. It represents an opportunity for children to study after dark, businesses to operate more efficiently and households to enjoy the benefits of modern infrastructure.
Speaking during the engagements, Muasya emphasised that leadership should go beyond receiving petitions and making promises. He said leaders must be willing to visit communities, listen to residents in their own surroundings and pursue solutions to the challenges they face.
“The people’s voices have been heard,” Muasya said, underscoring the need for the electricity concerns raised by residents to translate into tangible progress.
The visit comes as the UDA parliamentary hopeful continues to position himself as a leader committed to grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Residents now look forward to concrete steps towards addressing the electricity challenges affecting their villages.
