Corporate leader and 2027 Kitui gubernatorial hopeful Nicholas Muinde Mulila has intensified his focus on healthcare, positioning stronger partnerships with development organisations as part of his agenda to improve medical services across the county.
Mulila, who is associated with the KUG Party, says his approach to leadership is centred on understanding challenges on the ground rather than relying solely on reports from offices. His supporters describe him as a leader keen on visiting health facilities, engaging nurses and other healthcare workers, and examining the equipment and services available to patients.
Healthcare remains a major concern for many residents in Kitui, particularly those who depend on dispensaries and public hospitals for essential medical services. Challenges around equipment, staffing and access to specialised care have continued to shape conversations about the future of the county’s health sector.
Mulila has pledged that, if elected governor in 2027, his administration would seek to upgrade dispensaries, strengthen hospitals and improve the working environment for health workers.
