Mwingi North MP hopeful Hon. Martha Mati and Senator Beth Syengo on Saturday hosted a Welfare Groups Empowerment Forum at Katse, Mumoni, Mwingi North, bringing together residents, government officials and political leaders to discuss development and empowerment.
The forum was led by Kitui South MP Dr. Rachael Kaki Nyamai, who highlighted what she described as key development initiatives being undertaken by President William Ruto’s administration in Kitui County.
Dr. Nyamai cited road construction, rural electrification, water projects and support for education among the government’s development priorities, while also highlighting programmes targeting women, youth and small-scale traders, including the Hustler Fund, NYOTA programme and other Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda initiatives.
She urged residents to continue supporting President Ruto, saying sustained backing would help ensure continuity of development projects and promote inclusive economic growth across the county.
The forum brought together a number of leaders, including PS Jonathan Mueke, Hon. Charles Nguna, Hon. Joe Mutambu, former Kitui Governor Peninah Malonza, Hon. Bonnie Musambi, Dr. Banda, MCAs and other political and community leaders.
The gathering comes as political activity continues to intensify across Kitui ahead of the 2027 General Election, with leaders increasingly using community empowerment forums to engage residents on development, government programmes and their political aspirations.
