Yatta Kavonza MCA Hon. Mark Nding’o on Thursday attended a public participation forum at Kiusyani Ward to validate projects proposed under the Community Level Infrastructure Development Projects (CLIDP) programme for the 2026/2027 financial year.
The ward-level validation meeting brought together community members and county officials, including Kitui County Chief Officer for Tourism Mr. Kathenge, to review and validate projects identified by residents during village-level public participation.
The exercise followed a community consultation held on Wednesday, during which residents from the six selected villages identified priority projects they want implemented in their respective areas.
Projects approved through the validation process will be implemented under the CLIDP programme, with each project capped at KSh2 million and below.
The programme is expected to benefit all six villages in Yatta Kavonza Ward, with the projects selected based on priorities raised directly by residents.
The public participation and validation exercise is part of the county government’s efforts to involve communities in identifying and prioritising development projects for implementation in the 2026/2027 financial year.
