Yatta Kwa Vonza MCA Hon. Mark Nding’o on Friday officiated a site handover meeting to pave the way for road opening, grading and culvert works along the route connecting Ilovi Primary School through Ndandini Primary School to Tiva and Kyaithani.
The project is expected to improve movement for residents living along the route, particularly school-going children, farmers and traders who rely on the road to access schools, markets and other essential services.
During the site handover, the MCA engaged residents and other stakeholders on the importance of the project, with the works expected to address challenges caused by poor road conditions and inadequate drainage.
The planned culvert works will also help improve drainage along the road, especially during the rainy season, when some sections can become difficult to navigate.
Residents along the route are expected to benefit from easier access to neighbouring areas and improved transportation of farm produce. The improved road network could also make it easier for emergency and public service vehicles to reach households and institutions in the area.
The site handover marks the beginning of the implementation process, with residents now looking forward to seeing the works translate into a more reliable road connecting their communities.
The project is part of ongoing efforts to improve local infrastructure and respond to transport challenges affecting residents across Yatta Kwa Vonza Ward.
