KITUI, Kenya, October 28, 2026 — Global technology brand Samsung Electronics East Africa has expanded its retail presence in Kenya with the opening of a new Samsung Shop-in-Shop (SIS) outlet at City Gate Mall in Kitui Town, bringing its smartphone range closer to consumers in the region.

The new outlet, established in partnership with Maureen Mutua and Mutua Ndungi, provides customers with a dedicated space to explore Samsung smartphones, learn about their features and receive guidance when choosing devices that suit their needs and budgets.

The opening marks another step in Samsung’s efforts to reach more consumers beyond major urban centres, recognising the growing role of digital technology in business, communication and everyday life.

Kitui Town serves as an important commercial hub for the county, supporting traders, entrepreneurs, farmers and other small-scale businesses. For many of these enterprises, smartphones have become essential tools for communicating with customers, marketing products, managing daily operations and accessing information.

Speaking during the announcement, Brenda Nakhulo Khaimia, Marketing Manager for the Mobile Experience Division at Samsung Electronics East Africa, said the expansion reflects the company’s commitment to bringing its technology closer to consumers in different markets.

“Kitui is an important market within the region, and establishing a Samsung SIS here allows us to engage more directly with consumers and understand what matters to them,” Khaimia said, adding that the company aims to make its technology accessible and relevant to people from different walks of life.

She said the expansion aligns with Samsung’s Innovation for All philosophy, which seeks to enable more people to experience its products and discover how technology can support their personal and professional ambitions.

At the new City Gate Mall outlet, customers can explore Samsung’s smartphone portfolio and receive assistance in understanding the features available across different devices. The outlet is also expected to provide a direct point of contact between the brand and consumers seeking information before making purchasing decisions.

The move comes at a time when smartphones continue to shape how Kenyans conduct business, communicate and participate in the digital economy. For Kitui residents, the new outlet offers another local option for experiencing Samsung devices and learning more about the technology available in the market.

The opening forms part of Samsung Electronics East Africa’s broader efforts to expand its retail network across Kenya and strengthen its engagement with consumers in emerging and established markets.

With the new outlet at City Gate Mall, Kitui joins the markets where Samsung is seeking to bring its products and customer experience closer to consumers.
