Kitui Governor Malombe Hosts NEPAD group

Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe today hosted a team from the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) at the County Headquarters, led by NEPAD Chair Dr. Hassan Baette.

The team briefed the Governor on the Kitui County Peer Review Mechanism (CPRM) Self-Assessment Report and shared key findings from the assessment process.

NEPAD is an African development organisation that supports initiatives aimed at strengthening good governance, accountability and effective service delivery. At the county level, it supports peer review and self-assessment processes that help counties identify areas for improvement and strengthen their performance.

The briefing comes during the Kitui County Self-Assessment Report Validation Exercise which is being conducted from 1st to 4th September 2026, and brings together participants drawn from all 40 wards to review and validate the findings and ensure that the views and experiences of Kitui residents are accurately captured.

The validation process will pave the way for the finalisation of the report into a County Review Report, which will be presented at the 3rd National Summit of the CPRM in October 2026.
