Ikanga/Kyatune Ward MCA Hon. Cyrus Kisavi Musyoka alias Sonko has brought a ray of hope to Mukwatangano and Kathumula shopping centres under his Wakisha Mtaa Initiative. His Ward assistant Nicholas Kivite has confirmed receipt of two 500 W solar powered street lights today—one for each centre—courtesy of the Cyrus Musyoka Sonko Foundation. This marks a turning point for local evening life.
For years shops had to close by seven in the evening due to darkness. These new solar lights mean that businesses can now stay open longer boosting income and making the community safer at night. Villagers welcomed this delivery with relief and excitement after struggling for so long.
Installation of these lights is planned for next week under the supervision of Victor Musya who has been contracted by the MCA’s office to oversee the work. The smooth roll out shows Sonko’s commitment to delivering on his word.
Sonko has promised that each shopping centre in the ward will receive at least one street light fully funded by his foundation before 2027. This plan goes beyond these two centres and shows his focus on expanding safety and economic opportunity across the Ward.
This latest achievement builds on Sonko’s strong development record. In under three years he has delivered almost seventy percent of his campaign promises including better roads, water projects, education facilities, health services and dams that uplift the entire ward. His hands‑on leadership has earned him praise for bringing real change at the grassroots.
With visible results like these solar street lights and a great delivery record Sonko’s support among voters is shining brighter than ever. His re‑election for a second term seems certain because he shows that real leadership brings real change.
