Remove All Camels From Kitui”: Senator Enoch Wambua Issues Ultimatum at Burial of Slain 14-Year-Old

Enoch Kiio Wambua has demanded the immediate removal of all camels from Kitui County following renewed attacks linked to armed camel herders in Mwingi Central. The senator spoke on Thursday during the burial of 14-year-old James Joseph Mutemi at Kathungu village in Ukasi, where residents gathered to mourn the teenager who was allegedly attacked by armed herders on April 29, 2026.

While addressing mourners, Senator Wambua expressed grief and anger over the killing, describing the incident as part of a growing security crisis facing communities in the region. He called on Aden Duale and the national government to take urgent action to prevent further attacks, insisting that all camels should be moved out of Kitui County to restore peace and security among residents.

The senator further pledged to continue pushing for justice for victims of banditry and insecurity in the county. The burial attracted local leaders and residents who have repeatedly demanded stronger security operations following a series of killings and attacks linked to herders in parts of Mwingi Central and neighboring areas of Kitui County.
