Yatta Kwa Vonza Member of County Assembly Mark Nding’o on Tuesday conducted a site inspection of the completed sand dam project at Kwa Musau King’oto in Maito, Kawongo, reaffirming his commitment to improving access to water for local communities.
The MCA said the sand dam project is expected to provide a sustainable and reliable water source for residents, livestock, and small-scale farming activities in the area. He noted that the initiative will also play a key role in conserving the environment by raising the underground water table and supporting surrounding ecosystems.
Speaking during the inspection, Mark Nding’o emphasized the importance of investing in community-based water projects to address water scarcity challenges that have affected residents for years.
Residents welcomed the completion of the project, expressing optimism that the sand dam will ease the burden of searching for water during dry seasons and improve livelihoods in the region.
The project forms part of ongoing development efforts aimed at enhancing water accessibility and environmental conservation across Yatta Kwa Vonza Ward.
