Kitui County’s Ministry of Culture, Gender, Youth, ICT, Sports and Social Services will hold a three-day outreach program in partnership with Hope Mobility Kenya from June 16 to 18, 2026, at the Agricultural Training Centre in Kitui Town. The initiative targets persons with disabilities and faith leaders across the county, focusing on assessing and fitting mobility devices and training pastors on disability inclusion and pastoral care.

Trained clinicians from Hope Mobility Kenya will provide free assessments and fit beneficiaries with wheelchairs, crutches, and other assistive devices tailored to individual needs. The program aims to restore mobility, dignity, and independence for residents who have long faced barriers to accessing such services. County CECM Ms. Phoebe Mutemi said the partnership reflects Governor Julius Malombe’s commitment to inclusive development, noting that the outreach “brings services closer to the people and ensures that no one is left behind because of disability or geography.”

The training for pastors will equip church leaders with practical knowledge to support congregants with disabilities and promote inclusive worship spaces. The county government expects over 300 beneficiaries to attend and encourages residents to come with any available medical records. Organizers say the initiative will strengthen community-based support systems and advance Kitui’s efforts toward a more accessible and inclusive society.

Sub County dates will be be communicated, with venues and dates.
