Yatta kwa vonza member of county assembly hon Mark Ndingo on Tuesday morning officiated the site handover for the construction of a public toilet at Kanyonyoo Junction in Yatta/Kwa Vonza Ward.
The project is expected to improve sanitation and hygiene at the busy junction, which serves as a cess collection point for the County Government of Kitui and also hosts a roadblock operated by the Multi-Agency security team.
For years, the area has lacked a public toilet facility despite the high number of workers, travelers, and residents using the junction daily. The new facility is set to enhance public health standards and provide convenience to both staff and members of the surrounding community.
Speaking during the handover, Hon. Ndingo said the project reflects the county leadershipโs commitment to improving essential public amenities and ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment for wananchi.
