Yatta/Kwa Vonza MCA Hon. Mark Nding’o on Tuesday inspected the progress of the construction of a sand dam at Kwa Julius Mbuvi along the Mamole River, a key water project aimed at improving access to water for local residents. The MCA was accompanied by community members and project stakeholders during the site visit.
Speaking after the inspection, Hon. Nding’o expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work, noting that the project has been successfully completed and is now ready for commissioning. He said the sand dam will play a critical role in water harvesting, groundwater recharge, and enhancing water availability for domestic use and livestock, especially during dry seasons.
The MCA further announced that the project is scheduled for official handover on Thursday this week. Residents welcomed the completion of the dam, describing it as a transformative development that will help address water challenges in the area and contribute to improved livelihoods.
