Governor Malombe Commissions Renovated Kaliwa Dispensary to Boost Healthcare Access in Mwingi North

On 26th , June 2026 – KITUI Governor Dr. Julius Malombe commissioned the renovated, equipped, and fully operational Kaliwa Dispensary in Mumoni Ward, Mwingi North, marking another milestone in the county government’s efforts to strengthen healthcare services across Kitui County.

The upgraded health facility is expected to significantly improve access to quality medical services for residents of Kaliwa and neighboring areas. The project forms part of Governor Malombe’s broader healthcare agenda aimed at enhancing service delivery and ensuring

communities receive timely and affordable healthcare closer to home.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Governor Malombe reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to investing in healthcare infrastructure and improving health outcomes for residents. He noted that the operationalization of the dispensary would ease the burden on patients who previously traveled long distances to access medical services.

The governor said the county government remains focused on equipping health facilities, deploying medical personnel, and strengthening healthcare systems to ensure residents receive efficient and quality care. He emphasized that accessible healthcare remains a key pillar in improving livelihoods and supporting community development.

The event was attended by Kitui Deputy Governor Augustine Kanani, Mumoni Ward MCA Hon. Titus Kasinga, Ministry of Health Chief Officers Lynn Kitwann and Aggrey Kamba, members of the County Executive Committee, and other leaders who lauded the project as a significant step toward expanding healthcare access in the region.
