National Liberal Party (NLP) leader Dr. Augustus Kyalo Muli has announced the party’s readiness to engage in coalition discussions with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka ahead of the 2027 General Election, signaling early political realignments within the Ukambani region.
Speaking to supporters during a recent gathering, Muli stated that the NLP remains open to dialogue and strategic partnerships aimed at strengthening political cooperation. However, he stressed that any future alliance must be founded on mutual respect and recognition of the party’s growing influence.
Muli emphasized that the National Liberal Party should be acknowledged as an independent political entity with substantial grassroots support across different parts of the country. He said political partnerships can only succeed if all parties involved are treated as equal stakeholders.
The NLP leader further disclosed that the party has already initiated consultations with other opposition figures, including Martha Karua, as part of broader efforts to build unity among leaders seeking political change ahead of the next election cycle.
According to Muli, cooperation among leaders is necessary to address the persistent challenges affecting residents of the Kamba community and other regions that continue to struggle with development concerns.
He highlighted issues such as inadequate infrastructure, recurring water shortages, limited economic opportunities, and insufficient development projects as some of the key problems leaders should collectively prioritize.
With the 2027 General Election drawing closer, political activity in Ukambani appears to be gathering momentum, with observers now keenly watching whether Kalonzo Musyoka and the Wiper party will respond to NLP’s call for dialogue and possible cooperation.
