Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna Joins Launch of NYOTA Business Support Programme in Kitui

Mwingi West MP Hon. Charles Nguna on Friday joined other leaders and hundreds of young entrepreneurs in Kitui County for the launch of the second phase of the NYOTA Business Support Programme, an initiative aimed at empowering youth through business financing and entrepreneurship.

The programme benefited a total of 8,438 young entrepreneurs drawn from the Lower Eastern counties of Kitui, Machakos, and Makueni, with a combined KSh 210.95 million disbursed to support the growth and expansion of their businesses. The funding is expected to strengthen youth-led enterprises, create employment opportunities, and stimulate local economic development across the region.

Speaking during the event, leaders underscored the importance of investing in young people, noting that youth empowerment is a key pillar of sustainable economic growth. They emphasized that equipping young entrepreneurs with financial support and business opportunities enhances self-reliance, promotes innovation, and contributes to improved livelihoods for communities across the Lower Eastern region.
