Yatta Kwa Vonza MCA Mark Nding’o has dismissed concerns over the recent low public profile of Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, saying it is normal for presidential hopefuls to retreat periodically to strategize ahead of a general election.
Speaking exclusively to Mwatu FM via phone, Nding’o said Kalonzo’s recent silence should not be interpreted as political inactivity. He noted that every serious presidential contender occasionally steps back from public engagements to assess the political landscape and strengthen campaign strategies.
The MCA said all major presidential aspirants are currently focused on consolidating their political support bases and preparing for the highly anticipated 2027 General Election. According to him, such strategic planning is a normal part of national politics.

Nding’o also welcomed the growing political profile of Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, saying his increasing influence is beneficial to the broader opposition movement. He argued that Sifuna’s prominence strengthens the opposition and could boost Kalonzo Musyoka’s presidential bid.
His remarks come a week after Sifuna, who leads the Linda Mwananchi movement, held talks with Kalonzo Musyoka. Following the meeting, Sifuna said Kenyans from different parts of the country had urged opposition leaders to work together and build a united front ahead of the next general election.
Nding’o expressed optimism that continued cooperation among opposition leaders would enhance their chances in the 2027 polls, adding that unity remains key to presenting a strong alternative to voters across the country.
