Kitui South MP Dr. Racheal Kaki Nyamai on Monday led a UDA empowerment and public engagement forum at Katutu Primary School in Kitui West, where she reaffirmed the Kenya Kwanza administration’s commitment to accelerating development projects across Kitui County. The event, hosted by Kitui West MP aspirant Commissioner Ben Muasya, brought together national and county leaders alongside hundreds of residents and women groups.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Nyamai revealed that the National Government is currently implementing the tarmacking of 250 kilometres of roads across seven constituencies, adding that Kitui West has been earmarked for inclusion in the next phase following ongoing lobbying efforts. She said the road projects are part of the government’s broader infrastructure agenda aimed at improving connectivity, boosting trade, and opening up rural areas for economic growth.
The MP also highlighted the Kenya Kwanza administration’s investments in infrastructure, healthcare, education, affordable housing, agriculture, economic empowerment and job creation, saying the programmes are transforming lives across the country. She urged Kitui West residents to remain united in supporting President William Ruto’s development agenda and his 2027 re-election bid, arguing that continued support would help sustain ongoing projects and attract more government investments to the region.
The empowerment programme focused on supporting women’s groups through initiatives designed to improve livelihoods, promote financial independence and strengthen sustainable income-generating activities. Dr. Nyamai said empowering women remains a key pillar of the government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.
Among the leaders who attended the forum were Jonathan Mueke, Nimrod Mbai, Beth Syengo, Kevin Kinengo, Peninah Malonza, Kitui Rural MP aspirant John Kisangau Mbaki, Kitui Central MP aspirant Bonnie Musambi, Kalunda Ndile, MCAs led by Paul Maluki, and several other UDA leaders and aspirants. The leaders reiterated their commitment to strengthening grassroots engagement and mobilising support for the party ahead of the 2027 General Election.
