Hon. Harrison Maluki Mawia Sworn In as Clerk of the Kitui County Assembly

KITUI, Aug. 6, 2026 — Hon. Harrison Maluki Mawia has officially been sworn in as the substantive Clerk of the Kitui County Assembly and Secretary to the County Assembly Service Board (CASB), marking the beginning of his tenure as the Assembly’s chief administrative officer.

The swearing-in ceremony was held on Thursday in the County Assembly Chamber, a day after the Assembly approved his appointment during its afternoon sitting. His appointment was subsequently formalized through Kenya Gazette Notice No. 11980 dated August 6, 2026.

Speaking after taking the Oath of Office, Hon. Maluki thanked the Assembly for the confidence placed in him and pledged to serve with integrity, professionalism, and dedication. He outlined an ambitious agenda focused on digitizing Assembly operations, strengthening records management, promoting paperless committee processes, enhancing public access to legislative information through technology, and modernizing administrative systems to improve efficiency and service delivery.

Kitui County Assembly Speaker Hon. Kevin Kinengo Katisya congratulated the new Clerk and urged him to execute his constitutional and statutory mandate with diligence, impartiality, and professionalism. The Speaker expressed confidence in Hon. Maluki’s leadership and assured him of the Assembly’s full support as he leads institutional reforms aimed at enhancing legislative excellence.

Outgoing Acting Clerk Mr. Chris Mwangangi also congratulated Hon. Maluki, pledging his full cooperation to ensure a smooth transition and continued effective service delivery within the Assembly.

As Clerk, Hon. Maluki assumes the roles of Secretary to the County Assembly Service Board, Chief Administrative Officer, and Accounting Officer of the Assembly. He will oversee the institution’s daily operations while providing impartial procedural and legislative advice to the Speaker and Members of the County Assembly.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Governor H.E. Augustine Wambua Kanani, Members of the County Assembly, County Assembly Service Board members, County Executive Committee Members, Chief Officers, Assembly staff, Hon. Maluki’s family, residents from Migwani Ward, and members of the media. The Oath of Office was administered by Speaker Hon. Kevin Kinengo Katisya.
