Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua has officially launched his bid for the Kitui gubernatorial seat at Kitui Municipal Stadium, outlining an administration anchored on equitable development, accountability and merit.
Addressing hundreds of supporters at the launch, Wambua said his administration would prioritise equitable distribution of county resources, proper management of public funds, improvement of healthcare services and fair distribution of employment opportunities based on merit.
The Senator pledged to build a county workforce where competence and performance are rewarded, saying his administration would “reward success” and create an environment where hardworking residents have an opportunity to prosper.
Wambua also spoke on national politics, maintaining that Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka would not work with President William Ruto. He said any attempt to force or facilitate a political arrangement between Kalonzo and Ruto would not be accepted, signalling a firm position on Wiper’s political direction ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna attended the launch and praised Wambua for what he described as exemplary leadership in the Senate. Sifuna backed Wambua’s gubernatorial bid, saying he is the best choice to steer Kitui County forward.
The launch marks a major step in Wambua’s campaign to succeed Governor Julius Malombe, with the Senator positioning himself as a candidate focused on accountable leadership, equitable development and efficient management of county resources.
