Kitui Senatorial hopeful Wakili Kevin Kinengo has called on residents to continue praying for and supporting their leaders, saying spiritual guidance is essential for effective leadership and meaningful community development.
Kinengo made the remarks when he attended a fellowship and worship service at the Full Gospel Churches of Kenya (FGCK) Katalwa in Migwani Ward, Mwingi West Constituency.
The senator hopeful said he was deeply encouraged by a sermon delivered by Rev. Stephen Mwendwa, who drew lessons from Exodus 25 and emphasized the importance of anchoring leadership in divine purpose.
Kinengo said the message served as a reminder that leaders have a responsibility to put community development and the welfare of the people at the centre of their mandate.
“I was deeply touched by this message,” Kinengo said, urging congregants to continue praying for their leaders and offering them the necessary support to enable them to serve the people faithfully.
He noted that spiritual backing remains vital in helping leaders make decisions that advance the interests of their communities.
Kinengo attended the service alongside Hon. Harrison Maluki, Clerk of the County Assembly; Hon. Boniface Mukwate, Majority Whip and MCA for Kanyangi Ward; Hon. Deborah Mutuku, Nominated MCA; and Hon. Priscilla Makumi, Nominated MCA.
The fellowship provided an opportunity for worship, reflection and engagement on the role of faith and responsible leadership in transforming communities.
